The 2024 Maine 2 Meter FM Simplex Challenge took place Saturday, March 16th, from 12 PM to 4 PM. Similar to last year, we received logs from across the state, with the contest continuing to grow in popularity.

John Horton KC1LSO, and Dakota Dumont KB1YYC, operated as QRP mobiles, while Wesley Linscott WA1IOG, Rebecca Rowe W1LIC, Peter Bither AI1O, Richard Smith N1SGL, Tim (KB1HNZ) and Stefania (K1GJY) Watson, and others, operated in the Medium Mobile category. Congratulations to the Pine State Amateur Radio Club, who's members submitted 17 logs, for a combined score of 25,582! Thanks for promoting the event and embracing it the way you have!

Over the past few years we've supported multiple groups around the country who are looking to host a similar contest, and we're happy to share our rules format and ideas for promoting these events. Dick Bean K1HC mentioned in a letter that he included with his entry, that he was "talking the event up with a local ham club south of Boston," and hoped to get a Massachusetts version going some time in the future.
