DX News
The 425 DX News has led off with the following disclaimer in recent weeks: "Owing
to the ongoing and fluid nature of the COVID-19 situation globally,
announced activities might be postponed or cancelled at any time and
without notice." But, despite this reality, a few DXPeditions have gone
off. Most recently, S21RC and S21AM activated as S21DX
from Char Kukri-Mukri, a never-before-activated island within the
AS-140 island group, in Bangladesh. They operated mostly SSB and FT8 on
40-10 meters. From October 25 - November 6, NN2T and others activated
Bimini Island (NA-048) in the Bahamas, as C6AHB, operating mostly SSB and digital. Aland Island was activated by a Polish team as OH0KRF, and a Finnish team as OG0C, both in the month of August, and a joint Hungarian-Romanian team activated as ZA/HA8PX from rare Sazan Island (EU-169) from September 22-26.
In the weeks ahead, we look forward to Terre de Haut Island, Guadeloupe ( NA-114), being activated as TO6S, between January 20 - February 1, by a French and Canadian team. They will be active on HF; CW, SSB, RTTY, and FT8.
HB9DNB will activate as 3B8HH from Pereybere, Mauritius, focusing on CW, PSK, RTTY, and some SSB, on 80-2m, beginning January 20th.
In February, DL7BO will operate as Z22O, from Zimbabwe, focussing on CW, SSB, FT8, and FT4, on 160-10m, beginning February 3rd.
From February 8 - March 1, KG9N will operate as V4/KG9N, from St. Kitts (NA-104), focussing on HF.
From February 26 - March 26, AA9A will operate from Sint Maarten, as PJ7AA, focussing on CW, SSB, FT8, and FT4, on 80-10m.
From March 2 - March 11, WB2REM and others will activate as HD8M, from Santa Cruz Island (SA-004), focussing on CW, SSB, and FT8, on 160-10m.
